Easy, quick & thrifty ideas for a memorable outing on Holmes Harbor

Honestly, there's no reason to go anywhere else. Once we walk through the doors we relax and there is so much to enjoy here it's hard to leave. Walk the beach on Holmes Harbor, wander the trails on the property up to Resort Road. It's a quiet road to ride a bike or take a stroll. Watch the sunrise, play games, sit and stretch your creative muscles with some easy art tutorials. Listen to music, read a book, make some easy meals. Watch a movie with popcorn and cozy blankets.
One of my favorite relaxing activities is trying a new watercolor tutorial. Whidbey is a super inspiring place and we have been working on turning the front room into a studio. There are simple art supplies for anyone to use, and if you are interested in watercolor I cannot recommend Let's Make Art tutorials enough. Sometimes I want prioritize my time to cuddle by the fire or use every moment to appreciate the sunrises on the beach - In that case I try to get a weekend of easy meals or picnic staples before I arrive. My favorite place to stock up before heading to Whidbey is the Everett Trader Joes. Shopping on any island or remote community comes with new & super interesting stores but also a price tag that I don't always love. I've been intrigued by the three ingredient "recipes" I see using Trader joes foods. Shawarma chicken thighs, pita bread & hummus. Breaded Tilapia, tortillas with limes and corn salsa to make fish tacos. It's funny the things that interest me -- finding myself equally excited for tons of cooking and for skipping the effort all together. Either way a meal together means a lot.
Cheers to making time for each other!
