Coupeville wins our hearts with a walkable historic main street on beautiful Penn Cove.

Coupeville - the most beautiful main street in the northwest, gorgeous from the land and the view from the sea on the historic wharf is even better.

Wander down the waterfront street, poke around the unique shops and stop by the Little Red Hen bakery. If you are lucky it's a day they have made to order beignets on the menu. If you are not lucky, you are still lucky -- their cardamom rolls are crazy amazing. Walk down the wharf and check out the displays inside - a sea lion and a whale skeleton.

Walk up to the Bayleaf shop for a selection of intriguing groceries and beautiful wine choices. Their zero proof drink selection is also always so interesting!

Just outside of town is a peaceful forest that contains an unexpected surprise - Price Sculpture Forest - an outdoor art museum. Trails wind through thoughtful art outdoor art installations and huge evergreens.

Our Coupeville Picks

Walkable downtown shops and restaurants - 20 minutes from our place

  • Kingfisher Books

  • Hey Meet Market - art space and supplies

  • Little Red Hen Bakery - don't skip fresh beignets if they are available.

  • Walking on the Historic Coupeville Wharf

  • Price Sculpture Forest
